
Center director Kevin Callahan, PhD, served as a UNT faculty member in the educational
                                 psychology department’s special education program for 18 years before becoming the
                                 director of the UNT Autism Center.
                                 
                                 As a former special education teacher, Dr. Callahan’s research interests include how
                                 to provide effective school programming for students with autism and other disabilities.
                                 He has written about self-management and video modeling interventions and recently
                                 published articles in the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders about socially
                                 valid components of comprehensive autism treatment models. He previously directed
                                 the master’s degree and Ph.D. programs in autism intervention and autism research
                                 at UNT.
